PROGRAM SUMMARY

The competitive and constantly evolving business world today requires dynamic people qualified with appropriate skills and analytical abilities who can respond to and evolve with the latest business trends and developments. Our aim is to equip our students with the necessary problem-solving and decision-making skills to merge into this workforce by educating them as well as developing their skills through practicums and case studies. This program will also cater to the more ambitious students who can follow it up with higher studies at various universities in Alberta and elsewhere.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this program is to introduce students to the most relevant aspects of business management and administration to build a solid foundation for the administration of a commercial enterprise, and to provide them with the tools required for a successful career in business. Students are ready to enter the job market upon graduation after a five-week practicum that gives them on-the-job experience.

PREREQUISITES FOR ADMISSION

All applicants must meet with an admissions representative in addition to fulfilling the following criteria:

Standard Admission

High school graduation or equivalent (from an English medium institution) Applicants whose native language is not English – a minimum CLB level 6 or higher in all strands, a minimum IELTS score of 6 or higher; a minimum TOEFL score of 500 or higher for PBT (paper-based test); 180 or higher for CBT (computer-based test); and 64 or higher for IBT (internet-based test) is required.

Mature Admission

Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age prior to admission (19 for out of province applicants)
  • Present standard test results such as CAAT (Canadian Adult Achievement Test), TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education), CAST (Canadian Achievement Survey Test for Adults) or Wonderlic
  • Applicants from Manitoba must also have been out of school for one year in addition to the above
