Student Code of conduct
The code of conduct of an institution is a set of rules and regulations that govern the behavior of students and other members of the institution. CCEC’s code of conduct outlines what is expected of students and what types of behavior are considered unacceptable.
- Academic integrity: CCEC expects students and teachers to abide by the policies of academic integrity and refrain from dishonest activities such as plagiarism, cheating, and fabrication of academic work. These policies outline CCEC’s expectations for academic honesty and the consequences for violations.
- Discrimination and harassment: CCEC’s policies are against discrimination and harassment on the basis of all protected characteristics as defined by the Government of Canada. This is to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment. The policy also includes the procedures for reporting and addressing discrimination and harassment.
- Student conduct: The students are expected to maintain a professional and respectful behavior at all times to ensure an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Sanctions and disciplinary action: CCEC may impose sanctions and disciplinary actions for violations, such as verbal or written warnings, fines, community service, suspension, or expulsion.
- Due process: CCEC policies outline the provisions for due process, such as the right to a hearing and the right to appeal a disciplinary decision. Details of the Code of Conduct are described in the “CCEC Student Guide and Policies”.
